Privacy Notice
This notice explains what information CareCircle collects, why we collect it, who it may be shared with, and the choices and rights you have. CareCircle is currently in public beta. Please read this notice alongside our Terms of Service.
1. Who operates CareCircle
CareCircle is the service described in this notice, available at getcarecircle.site. If you have questions about this notice or how your information is handled, contact us at support@getcarecircle.site.
2. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: your name, email address, and password (your password is stored in hashed form by our authentication provider — we do not store or have access to your plain-text password).
- Care circle (family) information: the name of your care circle, and who its members are, including each member’s name and role (account owner or family caregiver).
- Information about people you care for: name, relationship to you, and time zone, entered by an account owner or caregiver.
- Medication, routine, and confirmation information: medication names, instructions, and schedules; daily care routines; and records of when a task was confirmed, resolved, or skipped, and by whom. This is entered directly by you or another caregiver in your circle — CareCircle does not obtain this information from any other source.
- Measurements you choose to record: readings such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, blood glucose, or temperature, exactly as entered.
- Billing information: if you start a paid subscription, payment details (such as card information) are collected directly by our payment processor, Razorpay — CareCircle does not receive or store your full card details. We do receive your subscription plan and status.
- Technical and log information: our hosting and infrastructure providers automatically process standard technical data (such as IP address, browser type, and request timestamps) as part of operating the service and keeping it secure.
- Cookies: we use cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in and maintain your session. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
3. Why we process this information
We use the information above to:
- create and secure your account and authenticate you when you log in;
- let you and the caregivers you invite coordinate care — recording medications, routines, confirmations, and measurements, and keeping a shared care history;
- enforce that each family circle’s information can only be seen by members of that circle;
- process subscription payments, where applicable; and
- maintain the security, reliability, and proper functioning of CareCircle.
4. Our basis for processing your information
We process account, care-circle, medication, routine, and measurement information because it is necessary to provide the service you have asked us to provide (performance of our contract with you) and because you or another member of your care circle has chosen to enter it. Where we ask for your explicit consent — for example, to the Terms of Service and this notice at sign-up, or to acknowledge that you are entering health-related information about a family member — we rely on that consent, which you may withdraw at any time by deleting your account.
5. Health-related and other sensitive information
Medication, routine, and measurement information you or a caregiver in your circle chooses to record is health-related information. We treat it as sensitive:
- it is entered by you or a caregiver you have invited, not collected from any medical provider, device, or third party;
- CareCircle stores this information exactly as entered — it is not interpreted, analyzed, or used to generate medical advice, diagnoses, or medication recommendations;
- it is only visible to members of the same care circle, enforced by database-level access rules; and
- before you can enter medication or measurement information for the first time, we ask you to separately confirm that you understand it is health-related information and that you have the right to enter and share it within your care circle.
Please only enter health-related information about another person (including a child or dependent) if you are authorized to do so on their behalf.
6. Who we share information with
We do not sell your information. We share information only with the service providers that are actually part of operating CareCircle:
- Supabase — our database, authentication, and backend infrastructure provider. Supabase stores your account, care-circle, medication, routine, confirmation, and measurement data on our behalf.
- Razorpay — our payment processor, used to process subscription payments if you choose a paid plan. Razorpay collects your payment details directly from you.
- Vercel — our hosting provider, which serves the CareCircle application and may process standard technical/request data as described above.
Other members of your own care circle can see the information described in Section 2 for that circle, as intended by the service. We may also disclose information if required to do so by law.
7. International transfers
CareCircle’s early users are primarily based in the United Kingdom and Canada, but our service providers (Supabase, Razorpay, and Vercel) operate infrastructure that may be located, or may process or store data, outside your home country. Where this happens, it is subject to that provider’s own safeguards and terms.
8. Retention
We keep your account and care-circle information for as long as your account remains open, so that you and your caregivers can keep using the service and viewing your care history. If you delete your account, or an account owner deletes a care circle, the associated data is permanently deleted, as described in Section 11.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information, including restricting each care circle’s data so it cannot be accessed by another, unrelated circle, and transmitting data over encrypted connections. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. CareCircle does not currently claim certification under any specific security or compliance framework.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your information, which can include the right to access, correct, export, or delete the information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can view and update your account and care-circle information directly within CareCircle, export your family’s data from Settings, or contact us at support@getcarecircle.site to exercise these rights.
11. Account and data deletion
You can delete your own account at any time from Settings. If you are the account owner, deleting your account permanently deletes your entire care circle and everything in it — everyone you care for, every caregiver’s access, and all recorded medications, routines, confirmations, and measurements. If you are a caregiver, you can instead leave a care circle without deleting your own account, or delete your own account, which removes your access without affecting the rest of the circle. These actions cannot be undone.
12. Children and minors
CareCircle accounts are intended for adults who coordinate care for family members. We do not knowingly allow children to create their own CareCircle account. A person you care for — including a minor or dependent — may be added as an entry within your care circle by a parent, guardian, or authorized caregiver, but does not themselves hold a CareCircle login unless invited as a caregiver.
13. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as CareCircle develops, particularly during this public beta period. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of CareCircle after a change means you accept the updated notice.
